The Focke Wulf Fw 190 has proven itself since mid-1941 as a universally deployable aircraft in air and ground combat. Its use as a versatile weapon carrier was constantly expanded. On 15 September 1943, two MK 103s were installed in weapon pods under the wings of the Fw 190 A-5 / U11 with the serial number 151303.
In the spring of 1944, the installation of various weapons for extendent use of the Fw 190 as an anti-tank aircraft was tested on behalf of the staff of the General der Jagdflieger.
The MK 103 in gondolas as underwing armament were considered promising at first and so various Fw 190s were equipped and tested with it. Around 20 A-6, A-8 and F-8 aircraft were fitted with this weapon container, now called „Rüstsatz 3“. Some Fw 190 only flew with Type B2 crosses as markings on the fuselage.
An aerodynamic extended fairing installed later did not prevent the tests from being cancelled due to excessive vibrations when firing.
Possible to build a Focke Wulf Fw 190 A/F with MK 103 machine gun early version. No decals necessary, as some aircraft were flown only with a Type B2 crosses on the fuselage.
