The Messerschmitt Me 262 V-9 [ VI + AD ] is most known as testbed for highspeed tests with a so called „RennKabine“ (racing cabine). These tests had been made end of 1944 / beginning 1945. The same Aircraft Messerschmitt Me 262 V-9 [ VI + AD ] also was a testbed for experimental directional finding equipment in early autumn 1944 for finding enemy allied bomber.
This kit enables you to build one of two Me 262 V-9 equiped with these acoustic probes.
Exact technical datas are not known, but it seems that it was possible to measure direction and distance to enemy bombers using electro acoustical methods (Stage 1). Maximal range was 750 Meters (2460 feet). It was planed to increase the range of this measuring method.
The so called „Zwiebel“ (onion) measuring probe (Stage 2) maybe had been used for the same reason, but further datas are not available.
