Baubericht der Airmodel AM-351 Fokker VFW 614. 

Im August 2001 wurde ich beauftragt für Airbus Deutschland GmbH eine Fokker VFW 614 zu bauen. Leider lagen zwischen Auftragsannahme und Abgabedatum nur 2 1/2 Wochen! Selbst für den Bau eines herkömmlichen Plastikbausatzes ist das nur sehr wenig Zeit.

In august 2001 I had been assigned to bild a Fokker a VFW 614 for airbus industries Germany GmbH . Unfortunately only 2 1/2 weeks was situated  between order acceptance and delivery date! Even for the building of a conventional plastic kit it´´ s only a very few time.

Falls noch nicht bekannt sein sollte, was jemanden erwartet, wenn er einen Vakubausatz kauft: So in etwa sehen diese aus!

Nach dem Ausschneiden mit einem Skalpell!

Schleifpapier wird mit 2-Seitigem Klebeband auf ein Brett geklebt. Hierauf kann man schnell das überschüssige Plastik entfernen. Körnung 320, oder weniger.
Sandingpaper had been clued on a wooden board with adhesive tape. You can remove fast the not requiered plastic.
Ich markiere die Konturen mit einem "Eding". Nach dem Ausschneiden kann man dann den zu entfernenden Teil sehr gut erkennen. Sobald kleine Fäden abstehen, hat man in etwa die exakte Materialstärke erreicht.
I´m using a permanent marker to make the outlines. After cutting out the piece, the not required plastic becomes visible.
Die Fenster sind graviert. Sie werden mit dem Skalpell ausgeschnittem und mit einer Feile nachgearbeitet.
The windows are engraved. After cutting out, you have to sand them down to their exact scale.
Die klaren Glasteile sind immer problematisch zu bearbeiten. Ich markiere die Umrandung mit einem scharfen Skalpell und entferne den nicht benötigten Teil mit einer Schere. Oder breche sie aus.
Vacuformed, clear parts are allways difficult to work with. I´m marking the outlines with a sharp scalpell and then break the not needed part
Sollten die klaren Teile nicht exakt mit den Rumpfkonturen abschließen (das kommt ab und zu vor), dann hilft es, wenn man dieses Teil vorsichtig (!!) über einer Wärmequelle erhitzt und bis zum erkalten verformt!
If the clear partd should not lock accurately with the fuselage outlines (that happens some times), it helps to heat the particular part over a heat source carefully (!!) to form it to the correct shape. 
In den Rumpf werden Quer- und Längsschotts eingezogen.
Into the fuselage cross-  and lengthwise bulkhead had been drawn.

Zum Anbringen der Flügel und des Höhenleitwerkes, wird das Flugzeug auf einer Helling positioniert. Somit wird der korrekt Winkel der Flügel garantiert!
For the attachment of the wings and the horizontal tail unit, the airplane is positioned on a mounting jig. Thus that is guaranteed the correct angles of the wings!
Im Bausatz enthalten sind nur die beiden Rad- hälften als vacuumverformte Teile! Meine Fahrwerke fertige ich meistens aus Messingrohren unterschiedlicher Durchmesser, die dann gelötet werden. Nichts ist stabiler!
The kit contains only the two wheel halves as vacuumformed parts! I am building my landing gears mostly out of brass tubes of different diameters, which will be soldered after. Nothing is more stable!.
 
Auch hier ist nur das Triebwerksgehäuse und die kegelförmige Düse im Bausatz enthalten. Das Verdichterrad wurde selbst hergestellt. Wie... siehe rechtes Bild.

Alle Unebenheiten wurden verspachtelt, verschliffen und das Flugzeug grundiert.
All unevenness were sanded, and the airplane was primed.
...nach erfolgter Lackierung, wurden alle Kleinteile und Fahrwerk angebracht.
... after lacquer finish, all small pieces and landing gear had been attached.
